SYMPHONY OF CARPENTERS
June 12, 2010 7:00 PM
On June 12, 2010 both professional and lay carpenters will build the stage extension and the performance platform inside the Topia Arts Center’s new performance space. This construction headed by Walter Chadwick of Barron and Jacob’s restoration and renovation services, will double as a live performance. The show will be a percussive symphony of construction with the carpenters shaking bags of nails, hammering, drilling and performing a variety of choreographed sonic events to a live audience. During the show Lara Gonzalez & Yael Shacham of Marafanyi will perform on a drumset assembled by Bill Champman with kids from found objects.
