Residencies and Retreats

Topia Arts Center works with artists and arts organizations as partners in setting up residencies and retreats.  The unique makeup of the Berkshires with its mix of culture and nature is a fertile backdrop for the creation of new work.  It is also a wonderful setting to enjoy new artistic works.  Outside the hustle and bustle of the city with its monolithic concrete forms, the natural landscape allows for a relaxed receptivity so that impact of each performance can sink in more deeply.

Symphony of Carpenters – A unique event

June 12th, 2010 both professional and lay carpenters shook bags of nails, hammered, sanded and did a variety of choreographed sonic events to a live audience. Soon, with the help of volunteers carpenters, the extended stage will be built thanks to the support of all of our participants, volunteers and donations.
